Dear MMA Community Members, Namaste!
I would like to wish each one of you, a successful and progressive year ahead. As you all know, MMA is very active in our community with the celebration of our great art, language, food, culture, and festivals. We also do charitable events and fund raising to help the needy. As a Malayalee, we are known to be from God’s own country and we love our tradition and customs. Even though we are far away from our homeland, we like to keep the cherishing memories of our land close to the heart. We work hard to promote our great Malayalee culture and tradition to the next generation living in Minnesota.
The Board would like to encourage all the community members to be part of MMA by taking or renewing the MMA membership and to actively contribute to our community. MMA has a very strong base in Minnesota due to the hard work of each one of us. All the previous MMA board members were effectively coordinating and leading our community to form a successful organization. Our programs are getting better and better in quality and organizational efficiency during these days. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to each one of the community members for their contributions.
The new board is very excited to work with you in many ways. Many exciting programs and events await us in 2014-15, including our usual programs and events. We strongly believe that the success of any program or event depends on the active participation and involvement of our members. With that in mind, we plan to form volunteer subcommittees to help the board and community. I would like to request each one of you to please join a subcommittee based on your interest and serve the community with your capacity.
MMA is going to be very active in the social media as well. Please join the MMA Facebook group for community discussions and for updates. We also have a MMA Facebook Page for official communications. “Like it” to get notifications.
Please do share your thoughts & feedback to improve our association activities and we appreciate that.
Feel free to contact me or any members of the board by emailing to info@mnmalayalee.org .
Thank you all for your continued support to MMA. Each activity is a learning experience and helps us find better ways of community work. Together we can make a better community and live well.
Sincerely,
Suresh Nair
